How to connect your thermal printer
Step-by-step instructions for connecting Epson and Star Micronics printers via LAN or Bluetooth.
Connecting a thermal printer allows your POS to generate physical receipts and kitchen tickets instantly. SmarTables supports most standard ESC/POS thermal printers.
Whether you are using a LAN (Ethernet), Bluetooth, or USB connection, the setup process is designed to be plug-and-play.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Power On: Connect your printer to a power source and turn it on.
- Network Check: Ensure the printer and your POS device are on the same WiFi network (for LAN/WiFi models).
- Add Printer: In the SmarTables Dashboard, go to Settings -> Printers -> Add New.
- Test Print: Enter the printer's IP address and click 'Test Print' to verify the connection.
Pro Tips
- Fixed IP addresses are recommended for LAN printers to avoid connectivity drops.
- Ensure you have 80mm or 58mm thermal paper rolls ready.
